Vintage Light - Vignettes Photography, Tucson's on-location photographer for babies and children

I have been wanting to photograph my 3-year-old with his tricycle ever since he got it. It's one of those cute vintage Radio Flyers, complete with a silver bell. However, time has gone by and I still hadn't gotten around to actually doing a shoot with it. Today, though, I was inspired by another photographer's photo of a little girl on a trike, and I decided it was high time I got out there and took these pictures that are in my head! My boys and I drove up north of our place, where it is a bit more deserted and county-ish, and I found a patch of beautiful tall dry grasses (read: weeds) with the setting sun shining gloriously behind. Oh, it was perfect. The images in my head were to become a reality. =) I was also anxious to get home and work with textures (my new love) on these photos. It is a perfect combination. The light. The location. The tricycle. The textures. So vintage and sentimental.
I also brought along a little table that my grandparents got for us at a yard sale for $1.

And my one-year-old was wearing this sweater the other day, and I was thinking that I would really like to take his picture in it before he outgrows it, so I grabbed it on the way out the door today. I LOVE these photos. I think I may have to get one of them in a canvas.

Until Next Year... - Vignettes Photography, Tucson's on-location photographer

As January comes to a close, I wanted to share some of my Christmastime photos with you. (I meant to share these a long time ago, but hadn't gotten around to editing them until today!) I decided to play a bit with textures in these photos. I love how moody they are, and how the textures really bring out the warmth and feeling of the season. What do you think?

This is the nativity musical snow globe that my grandma got for me years ago, and it is still one of my most treasured things.
My friend Katie made this cute wreath for me! I LOVE it, and it will be staying up year-round. =)
I finally got my advent calendar up this year for the first time ever. Love the little boxes for holding stuff.
My brother-in-law, Mark, gave these two candles to me many years ago. He is a great gift-giver, and these candles always make me smile when I pull them out at Christmastime.

I love Christmastime. =) I cannot wait until next year when I get to pull it all out again. Maybe I could sneak in a bit of Christmas music while my hubby's at work today.... (He holds a strict policy on when we're allowed to pull out the Christmas music. Otherwise I'd have it on all 12 months.) =)

Meet Miss M. - a graduating high school senior. Is she not BEAUTIFUL?!She is one of the sweetest chicas I've ever met, with a smile so big, natural, and warm it just lit up every single photo.

I love the boots in this photo...
And this is definitely one of my faves from her session.... (Doesn't she look fabulous in pink?!)
Congratulations, Miss M., and best wishes as you finish your senior year! Can't wait to show you the rest of your portraits!

Gallery Wrap Canvas Sale! - Vignettes Photography, Tucson

If you have been contemplating getting a gallery wrap canvas, now is the time to do it! The professional lab that I work with is offering all gallery wrap canvases at 20% off tomorrow (Tuesday, Jan. 11), through Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011. Orders must be placed directly through me in order to receive the discount (the discount is only for photographers - I am extending it to my clients.) Orders placed online will not receive the discount. Here is a peek at what the canvases look like.... Hanging in a wall display....
Premier art canvas substrate is professionally wrapped around a 1.5" thick wooden frame, and arrives as a finished product ready to hang.

These are AMAZING - they are durable, eye-catching pieces of art that showcase your beautiful portraits. I also highly recommend them as an alternative to prints behind glass for displaying in areas of your home where glare could be a problem.
(The two canvases shown in these photos are size 16x24.)
Please contact me for sale prices (20% off) and to place your order. Because of the time limits on this sale (put in place by the professional lab with which I work), orders must be portraits by Vignettes Photography that are already completed. For contact info, please visit my website: www.vignettesphotography.com.
Thanks!

2011 Scheduling - Vignettes Photography, Tucson's on-location portrait photographer

Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and are off to a great start in this new year. I enjoyed some wonderful time with my family, doing lots of fun Christmas-y things and hangin' out together, and then heading up to the White Mountains with my extended family for some snowy winter fun. It was an absolute blast, and I am grateful for the health and happiness of all my loved ones. (I have some photos to share from our holiday soon!)

I wanted to send out a quick post with my scheduling update for 2011. I cannot believe how busy I have been, and how quickly 2011 started booking up before 2010 was even finished! With much amazement (and gratefulness to you, my clients!) I am here to say that I am BOOKED through April, 2011! I will be taking two more sessions for the month of May, and (at least for now) will be taking June and July off. (Depending on my family's summer plans, I may open up some slots in June and/or July, but will post that availability at a later time if that is the case. Let me know if you are interested in a June/July session and I can get back with you on that.)

I will be announcing some upcoming mini-sessions soon, so if you would like a springtime session, this may be a good option for you.

With thanks for your continued enthusiasm and support of Vignettes Photography...
